Villa Los Angeles is a small community in a suburban area in Trujillo, Peru. About 90% of the community lives in poverty and, before our partnership with the local NGO Hands On Peru, none of them had access to clean drinking water. The water is contaminated and chronic water shortages mean that residents only have water for certain times of day. Thankfully with the help of Hands On Peru we were able to provide enough personal filters for each family in Villa los Angeles. These filters have a ten year lifespan and were implemented to give the community control over their quality of water and life until government can complete their projects and bring permanent clean water to Villa Los Angeles!
