Our Projects
In total, 33 Buckets has partnered with 23 communities, improving the lives of over 8,500 individuals through clean water, sanitation, and hygiene. We partner with rural, underserved communities that thousands of multi-generational families call home. Since 2015, we have focused our efforts in the Cusco region of Peru, partnering with 22 communities to improve access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene. Since our inception, we have continuously evaluated and improved our value proposition. In every project, we view our relationship with the community as a partnership. We strive to deliver solutions that fit their needs, desires, and lifestyle.
Today, 33 Buckets has emphasized two main activities: (1) Facilitating tailored training and support for local water management teams, called JASS (Junta Administradora de Servicios de Saneamiento), and (2) Hosting youth-focused WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) Workshops in partnership with the schools in our partner communities. Since 2021, we have focused our efforts in the Ccorca District of Cusco, Peru, home to approximately 3,200 individuals across 14 communities.
Led by our local partner, Angelica Vergara Cusihuallpa, we have empowered over 600 multi-generational families across all 14 communities in the Ccorca District. Our Water Manager Training Programs have improved knowledge, skills, and available resources for over 55 water managers who volunteer as a part of their JASS group, a responsibility shared by all community members. Through our WASH Workshops, we have created a foundation of basic skills and a general excited for clean water and sanitation for over 450 kids in the Ccorca District. Equally as important, we have created a unique opportunity for cultural exchange and served as a source of inspiration for both the kids, their families, and the 33 Buckets Team!

Distrito Ccorca ~ Cusco, Peru
Ccorca is one of eight districts in the Cusco province of Peru. Located southeast of the historical city of Cusco (13°35'05.5"S 72°03'33.3"W), Ccorca is home to approximately 2,500 individuals across 14 communities, including its ‘centro poblado’, or the district center. The Ccorca District is approximately 190 square kilometers at an elevation of nearly 12,000 ft above sea level. Located high in the Andes mountains, Ccorca is known for its beautiful nature and agriculture. The majority of households make a living through their crops, primarily potatoes. While most individuals speak Spanish, Quechua is the native language and primarily used in households. Ccorca is considered one of the most impoverished districts in Cusco. Health issues related to anemia, malnutrition, and stomach-related illnesses are prevalent, especially in children.
